BOX SCORE GAME TWO

SAVANNAH, GA--Bloomsburg University's Kayleen Sidisky (Bellefonte/Bellefonte) went 4-4 and drove in two runs and Tara Reed (Williamsport/Williamsport) went 3-4 and scored two runs to lead the Huskies softball team to an 8-0 win over Armstrong Atlantic in the season-opener. Bloomsburg dropped the nightcap 7-2 to Armstrong Atlantic with the games played at the Smash Hit Tournament in Savannah, Georgia.

Leading 2-0 in the fifth, the Huskies scored six times to take a 8-0 lead. The big hits in the inning were a two-run double by Lacy Mauro (Jersey Shore/Jersey Shore) and a two-run triple by Jess Rosin (Brooklyn, NY/James Madison). The strong hitting backed a great pitching performance from Ashley Lynn (Riverside/Danville) who went the distance allowing just two hits and striking out two.

In the nightcap, the Huskies managed 10 hits, but left seven runners on base in losing 7-2. Bloomsburg did get RBI singles from Mauro and Casey Massimini (Downingtown/Downingtown).

The Huskies, 1-1, will play St. Francis of Indiana and the University of Illinois at Springfield on Sunday at the tournament.
